My desktop computer is back from HP, which means that by this weekend I should have things all set up to be able to upload pictures of the House Elf I have been making and the handbound book I have been working on. I’m really happy to be able to get back to work and be able to work without fearing that my little laptop will overheat and burn out. I’ve been neglecting a lot of things while my desktop was down and out, so now it is time to play serious catchup and I am catching up as fast as I can.

I want to get an area set up for using my Dremel tool, router, sewing machine and other stuff for working with my crafts and things so I can start trying to earn enough money to save my parents’ house.

I have decided that if I am going to find a way to pay off the money that my parents were forced to borrow against their house, the one that they had wanted to leave to me as a thank you for the years I had put my own life aside to help them as a caregiver, then I am going to have to find ways to earn money. So, even though my crafts have always been made for my mom, I think it is time that I make craft projects and sell them. I am looking into selling my craft stuff over the weekend, and will make my decision by the end of the week on if it is really a route I want to take, but at the moment I can not think of any other way than my writing and craft projects that I can earn money to help save my parent’s house.

I find it very difficult to even think about working on craft projects at the moment, because throughout my life everything I have ever made has been made for my mom. She died of a massive heart attack on the 14th of this month, leaving my whole family in shock. My mom had never had a history of heart problems, and had focused her life on taking care of her family and in particular her husband after he had began having trouble with his own health years ago.

I will return to working on craft projects and on working on this website, but for now, I simply can not bring myself to think about either one.

I missed getting an entry into the Alaska State Fair this year, which is kind of a bummer to me. I had not really realized just how fast the year was going past, then the news suddenly announced that the fair is starting and I was not sure just where that came from. Seems like it should only be early spring, but here we are going into fall now.

I need to find the time to get back into working on things with the polymer clay, but just never seem to find the time to work on any clay projects anymore. Hopefully I’ll get the chance to get back to it soon, just find it really annoying that I missed out on getting anything entered in the fair. Ah well, there’s always next year, huh?

I’ve been too busy to get much work with polymer clay in, much less write about what I am doing (or rather not doing) with my clay projects. I am still around, though, and would love to be working on things here. I have plans to maybe change the site around some, so that might just happen before too much longer, we’ll see. I don’t want to mess with the links I know are out there on the Internet, so I am going to be sort of careful in just how I do this.

What brought me here today was the discovery of a kewl video on inking in crosshatching on a Manga drawing (you know, like Speed Racer) by a guy that has a bunch of drawing tutorials up on YouTube. The tutorials are by Mark Crilley, who does the Miki Falls: Spring (Miki Falls) books by HarperTeen (available in bookstores) and show what it takes to create Manga artwork. I’ve included one of the videos he has up at YouTube here, just so I can be sure to find them when I have some time to play around with drawing again. This one is for drawing a character in a fighting pose:
