New fabric for a new quilt

I’m in a quilting mood, and I can’t wait for spring to melt out from under all this snow, so I stopped by the store today and picked up some lovely fabric in tones of pink to use to create a springtime quilt. I figured that dad and I could use something cheerful for brightening up the house a little as we go into spring.

I’m planning a different kind of quilt for this one, rather than the pieced squares I normally love to make I am going to make a large checkerboard patterned quilt.
